Robot vacuum cleaners are a must-have device for those that just can’t dedicate an entire day to cleaning their floors. The problem is that robot vacs can’t do much against sticky messes like spilled juice or dropped spaghetti sauce. And the combo vacs with both vacuuming and mopping abilities don’t combine the best of both worlds; they’re either good at one job or mediocre at both.
However, if there’s one brand of robot vacuum and mops that you should not turn a blind eye to, it’s iRobot. In today’s article, we’re going to talk about the amazing Braava Jet m6 Robot Mop. From the reviews and responses from our friends in the US, the Jet m6’s amazing wet-cleaning abilities make it the best robot mop ever to hit the market. For our readers in Europe, you’ll have to wait a few months as it is set to release on July 12, 2019. Let’s talk about how jaw-droppingly amazing the Jet m6 truly is.

Downward Spray
The m6 has a 15-fl. oz. water basin which is quite large compared to its competitors. But the thing that stands out about the m6 is its downward spray which is designed to prevent unwanted splashes on the legs of wood-based furniture. A light but sufficient drizzle of water and solution (you get a free 4-fl. oz. bottle) is in front of the m6 before it runs over the caked-on mess with its mop pads.
Wet and Dry Slide-on Mop Pads
The m6 uses two pads for mopping and drying your hardwood or tiled floors. Installing these pads is a breeze; just slide it into the appropriate spot on the belly of the robot, and you’re good to go. The front of the robot uses the wet mop pad which becomes soaked in the sprayed water and solution, and the back pad remains dry throughout the cleaning process to prevent slipperiness when treading over a newly mopped area.
You can also get washable pads for your m6 if you’d like to save a bit of money on disposable ones. But if we’re completely honest with you, the reusable pads aren’t that great. After the first couple of washes, the pads won’t soak up water as effectively.
Square Design for Maximum Edge Cleaning
We have become accustomed to seeing round-shaped robots patrolling our floors so blocky. Square robots are somewhat out of the norm. However, the square-shaped design of the m6 is nothing to worry about. Thanks to the four rounded edges, the m6 has a better chance at reaching all corners of a room than round robots. No more gross wall-to-floor edges and corners for you!
Smart Mapping and Navigation
The Braava Jet m6 is equipped with iAdapt Navigation and Imprint Smart Mapping. The iAdapt sensors allow the m6 to glide seamlessly across smooth surfaces without getting trapped on carpet edges or other obstacles. The smart mapping technology uses a number of sensors to create a map of your home’s floors. The m6 will make a digital diagram of where any obstructions lay (furniture, carpets, etc.) to increase its mopping efficiency.
Large Coverage Area
Thanks to the m6’s heavy-duty rechargeable Li-Ion battery, this robot can clear entire floors (depending on the total floor area) in a single charge. The m6 has a rating of about 1,000 square feet when wet-mopping and much higher when dry-mopping/sweeping.
Recharge and Resume
Although you can find all sorts of handy buttons and commands on the m6’s control panel, you might be happy to learn that this robot mop has an auto-charging feature. When it detects low battery life, it’ll head directly to its charging dock to refuel. After reaching capacity, the m6 will continue where it left off. You can leave this robot alone for days at a time without worries.
Sequence Vacuum and Mopping (Roomba i7/s9)
For those of you who have or plan on having the Roomba i7 or s9, there’s something you should know about the m6. These robots take turns vacuuming and mopping your floors. The Imprint Link Technology keeps these robots in synch, and after the i7 or s9 has had its go on your floors, they’ll send a command to the m6 to begin its mopping instructions.
Wi-Fi Connectivity
The Braava Jet m6 connects directly to your home’s Wi-Fi. With the downloadable app, you can set up automatic mopping schedules, mopping modes, and send it back to refuel when you’ve deemed your floors adequately cleaned. Because everything is done remotely, you hardly ever need to lay a finger on the m6. The robot also accepts voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Virtual Walls
Perhaps you’d like to limit the jurisdiction of the m6 to one or two rooms. Unfortunately, you cannot alter its mopping path via the digital map, but you get the next best thing. The m6 is compatible with iRobot Virtual Walls – a physical barrier – that forces the robot a step back before continuing its cleaning cycle. The i7 and s9 robot vacs also acknowledge the presence of the virtual walls, so you get maximum concentrated cleaning in certain areas of your home.
Verdict
Toss your mop and bucket away! If you get the iRobot Braava Jet m6 Robot Mop, your home’s floors will remain spotless throughout the day. This robot mop is not one that disappoints, unlike so make other robot mops that simply push sticky messes around your beautiful tiles or floor boards.
The standard but convenience-adding features are available in many robot mops and vacuums, but the thing that makes this unit stand out is its sequential cleaning. Right after the iRobot Roomba i7 or s9 has finished its vacuuming cycle, the m6 will jump into action by wet-sweeping your floors.
Even as a standalone unit without sequential cleaning, you and your floors can still benefit from the amazing cleaning effectiveness and efficiency of the m6. Those with large homes and/or untidy pets will love this smart mop to take over the tedious task of mopping dirty floors.
