Nu Cobalt NC74 Wall Climber Scrubber Robotic Pool Cleaner Review

Just two decades ago, robotics technology was very crude and lacking in practicality. In the two decades that passed, robotics technology experienced a wide variety of unique developments and transformations, that have allowed it to become significantly more practical, and significantly more efficient in the way that it handles and accomplishes various tasks.

Today, you can find a wide variety of different robotic devices. You can find robotic vacuum cleaners, for example. These are vacuum cleaners that are small, mobile, and automated. With a robotic vacuum, you only need to press a couple of buttons, and then the robotic vacuum cleaner moves across the floors in your home, vacuuming up everything that is in its path.

By doing this, this ensures that you have floors that are nice and clean, without a bunch of dirt and dust laying all across the floors.

You can also find robotic window washers, robotic mops, and, of course, robotic pool cleaners. Each one of these devices operates under the same design ethos, which is that of creating a more hands-off experience, giving you more time and energy to spend on the things that are truly important and meaningful to you.

Robotic pool cleaners are a little different, though, because they tend to be more expensive than robotic vacuum cleaners, and many of them don’t automate the process of cleaning your pool. Instead of automating it, they allow you to control the process of cleaning your pool, using a remote, and you don’t have to manually pick the pool cleaner up, and move it around.

But, with that being said, many robotic pool cleaners are integrating automation technology, and this has allowed for more efficient, and more hands-off, robotic pool cleaning.

What Does The Nu Cobalt NC74 Robotic Pool Cleaner Offer?

Using the Nu Cobalt NC74 Robotic Pool Cleaner, you can clean off the floor of your pool, the walls of your pool, as well as the waterline of your pool. Many of the other robotic pool cleaners on the market – especially ones with a similar price as the Nu Cobalt NC74 Robotic Pool Cleaner – only allow you to clean the floor and walls of your pool.

Nu Cobalt NC74 Robotic Pool Cleaner

When the Nu Cobalt NC74 Robotic Pool Cleaner is cleaning your pool, it uses scrubbing to remove the gunk and grime from all of those different sections of the wall. In conjunction with the scrubbing, vacuuming is also used to remove the gunk and grime from those surfaces, once that gunk and grime has been scrubbed off.

During the vacuuming process, all of the gunk and grime flows into a filter bag that is made out of nylon. This is a strong filter bag that can hold quite a bit of material. It takes a lot to break/damage the bag.

The scrub brushes that are on the bottom of the Nu Cobalt NC74 Robotic Pool Cleaner are incredibly strong and powerful. They can easily scrub off thick chunks of gunk and grime that have remained on your pool for quite some time. You won’t have any issues when it comes to using this suction to thoroughly and efficiently clean the different surfaces and areas of your pool.

Vortex technology is used for the suction, and this suction is strong and consistent. Using this suction, you can easily remove large pieces of debris. Pieces of debris such as medium-sized branches, pine cones, leaves, and many other kinds of debris.

Due to the size and durability of the filter bag, you’re not going to have any issues with the suction process, or with taking all of the stuff that you’ve vacuumed up, and disposing of it.

To use the Nu Cobalt NC74 Robotic Pool Cleaner, you only need to do a few things. First off, you need to plug in the power cord. This power cord swivels and rotates, so it’s not going to get tangled or knotted up.

Then, you drop it into your pool, and that’s it. Navigation technology is used so that the Nu Cobalt NC74 Robotic Pool Cleaner knows where it’s going and where it needs to go. When the cleaning process is finished, it comes up to the edge of your pool, and you can pick it up.

If you are looking for an affordable, efficient, and well-designed robotic pool cleaner, then the Nu Cobalt NC74 Robotic Pool Cleaner is a fantastic choice!

Nu Cobalt NC74 Vs. Nu Cobalt NC71

With the Nu Cobalt NC71, you have a robotic pool cleaner that offers many of the same general features and attributes as the Nu Cobalt NC74. But, the price is slightly lower, and this is due to a design that is a bit larger, and a bit clunkier.

Nu Cobalt NC74 Vs. Nu Cobalt NC71

Using the Nu Cobalt NC71, you can clean the waterline, walls, and floor of your pool. This is done using scrub brushes that are strong and efficient, as well as using vortex suction. It’s the same system that the Nu Cobalt NC71 uses, and it works very well.

Through the use of navigation technology, all you need to do is place the Nu Cobalt NC71 in the water, and then the robotic pool cleaner gets to work. There is nothing else to it.

Ultimately, the Nu Cobalt NC71 is almost the same robotic pool cleaner as the Nu Cobalt NC74. But, with that being said, the design is a bit heavier, so it can be more difficult to pick it up out of the water, and it can take longer for the pool cleaner to clean your pool.

Nu Cobalt NC74 Vs. Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus

Using the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus, you can clean the floor of your pool, as well as the walls. This is done using powerful scrub brushes, and strong suction. Part of the reason why this is a more efficient robotic vacuum than the Nu Cobalt NC74 is because the cleaning process is a bit more thorough, and the scrubbing and vacuuming is stronger.

Nu Cobalt NC74 Vs. Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus

Through the use of CleverClean Technology, the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus can see your entire pool, and to detect the best cleaning paths that will allow it to clean your pool in the swiftest and most efficient manner possible.

With a remote, you have access to a variety of different settings. One of the settings that is most important is the scheduling setting, which allows you to create a schedule for when the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus cleans your pool. It knows what day to do the cleaning, and then it moves into your pool, cleans, finishes up, and leaves your pool. The entire experience is almost completely hands-off!

In the end, if you don’t mind spending some extra cash, and you want a more hands-off and efficient robotic pool cleaning experience, then the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus is a fantastic choice!

Nu Cobalt NC74 Vs. Hayward RC9740WCCUB SharkVac XL

With the Hayward RC970WCCUB SharkVac XL, scrubbing and suction is used to clean the walls, floor, and waterline of your pool. The entire process is quick and efficient, but not very different from the other robotic pool cleaners we have looked at.

Nu Cobalt NC74 Vs. Hayward RC9740WCCUB SharkVac XL

To use the Hayward RC970WCCUB SharkVac XL, you need to simply plug it in, and then put it in the water. Navigation technology is then used to detect the best cleaning paths for the robotic pool cleaner to take.

During the pool cleaning process, filter cartridges hold all of the gunk and grime that you are removing from your pool, and you can easily dispose of their contents once you are finished with the pool cleaning process.

Ultimately, if you want a robotic pool cleaner that is a little cheaper than most, but similar to many of the other robotic pool cleaners on the market, then the Hayward RC970WCCUB SharkVac XL is a great choice.

  1. Hi, I was searching for product reviews of the NC74 and found this article. That is actually my photo with the googly eyes, and my unit. I purchased mine through Amazon on April 19, 2019. Today while untangling the power cable, my swivel unit exploded. Sounded like a shotgun. Sent plastic pieces everywhere. I have contacted Nu Cobalt through Amazon, and I’m awaiting a reply. I’m posting this for two reasons – since the tangling of the cable is a common problem for many, please ensure the power is off – not just the cycle, but AC power removed from the power module, before attempting to do anything with the unit. This issue is a very real danger/threat to anyone who has this unit. The interior of the swivel has rust and corrosion, so the swivel unit is either not watertight, or can develop cracks. I never would have expected it to explode, but it did. I’m lucky I didn’t get injured. My wife was inside, and it scared her. My ears are still ringing. I also want others who have this unit to be aware that this can occur if water gets into the swivel housing.
