Updated on:

Two of the most common vacuum cleaners are upright vacuums and canister vacuums. To this day, upright vacuums remain the most popular vacuums available on the market. But, canister vacuums are certainly catching up in popularity.

Miele Classic C1 Turbo vs. Miele Compact C1 Turbo: Canister Vacuums

Upright vacuums have been popular for a long time. They were some of the very first vacuum cleaners available. They continue to be popular because they are incredibly powerful and very affordable.

Using an upright vacuum, cleaning all of the floors and assorted surfaces in your home is very easy. And, you don’t have to spend a lot of money to purchase an upright vacuum that fulfills all of your vacuuming needs.

Unfortunately, upright vacuums are quite big. Not everyone has the space to properly store an upright vacuum, and not everyone has a home big enough to maneuver an upright vacuum. These two design traits are what keep some people away from upright vacuums.

If you want a good vacuum cleaner that is powerful and affordable, but smaller than an upright vacuum, then a canister vacuum is the best choice!

Miele Compact C1 Turbo vs Miele Classic C1 Turbo Canister Vacuums

Unlike upright vacuums, canister vacuums are small and mobile. Moving them from room to room is easy, and they give you just as much power as an upright vacuum!

In this buying guide, you’re going to learn about two of the best, and most high-end, canister vacuums available. The Miele Classic C1 Turbo, and the Miele Compact C1 Turbo.

Miele Classic C1 Turbo

The Miele Classic C1 Turbo has a clear and concise design. You aren’t going to be astonished by the aesthetics, but you won’t have any problems or issues using it.

Miele Classic vs Compact

Moving the vacuum around is as easy as it can be. With a light push of your foot, you can move the Miele Classic C1 Turbo across all kinds of surfaces, and into the rooms and spaces, you need to clean. This is due to the small form factor, and the durable wheels that make navigation easy.

On top of the vacuum, there is a dial. This dial consists of six different settings, all of which have to do with the suction power that you are using. If you need a lot of suction power for a thick carpet or a very dirty couch, then you can use the highest suction setting. Or, if you just need some suction power, maybe the second or third suction setting is the best choice for you.

Miele Classic C1 Turbo

For you to harness this suction power, you need a floorhead. Each floorhead connects to the main hose, which is right by the suction dial.

You have access to two floorheads. If you have hard floors, you’re probably going to be using the Parquet Floorhead, which is designed for floors made of hard materials, such as wood and stone. It glides across those hard floors, picking up dirt, dust, and debris.

Sometimes, you need to vacuum on a softer surface, such as a carpet or a rug. When you need to clean those kinds of surfaces, it’s best to use the Turbo Brush Floorhead. As the name suggests, the Turbo Brush Floorhead uses a nice, strong brush to loosen up and remove dirt, dust, and debris, from soft surfaces.

Not only do you have access to those two floorheads, but you also have access to a couple of different attachments. For dusting, you have a dusting brush. For vacuuming in small, tight crevices, you have a crevice tool. And, for vacuuming on couches, chairs, and even the interior of your car, you have the upholstery tool.

Ultimately, the Miele Classic C1 Turbo is a fantastic canister vacuum that gives you all of the vacuuming power that you need, to quickly and efficiently clean every surface in your home!

Miele Compact C1 Turbo

From a design standpoint, the Miele Compact C1 Turbo is very similar to the Miele Classic C1 Turbo. Everything is in the same place, and the design looks nearly identical except for, of course, the color, which is a shade of black.

Here’s the biggest difference: the Miele Compact C1 Turbo is smaller than the Miele Classic C1 Turbo. Instead of weighing 17.4-pounds, the Miele Compact C1 Turbo weighs 14.8-pounds. While this isn’t a significant difference, it does make the vacuum easier to move around and store.

But, it also means that you can’t vacuum up as much dirt, dust, and debris, without having to empty the dust bag.

On the top of the Miele Compact C1 Turbo, there is, of course, a dial. Naturally, this dial gives you six different settings that you can choose from, for you to use the exact amount of suction that you need.

While this is a smaller vacuum, the suction power that you have access to is the same. This is because the motor found in the Miele Classic C1 Turbo is the same one found in this canister vacuum, it’s just a little smaller. So, no matter what you need to vacuum, you won’t have any issues or difficulties.

Miele Classic C1 Turbo vs. Compact C1 Turbo

To harness this suction, you just need to attach a floorhead to the vacuum wand. You have access to two floorheads, and they are the same floorheads that you’ll find in the Classic C1 Turbo.

You have the Turbo Brush Floorhead, which is great for vacuuming on carpets, rugs, and all kinds of other soft surfaces. And then, you have the Parquet Floorhead which is for hard floors. They’re the same floorheads, and they work incredibly well.

Along with that, you have access to the same attachments. Attachments for cleaning crevices, and upholstery, and for brushing off the dust.

In the end, the Miele Compact C1 Turbo is mostly the same canister vacuum like the Miele Classic C1 Turbo. But, it’s smaller, and if you need a smaller canister vacuum, then it’s a great purchase!
