With a good steam mop, you have a device that makes it incredibly easy for you to clean all kinds of different surfaces, and when you clean these surfaces, you are able to easily and effortlessly remove all of the stains and the gunk and grime that is on those surfaces. With a good steam mop, you can clean just about anything. That is one of the biggest reasons why so many people are choosing to invest in steam mops. Steam mops can be expensive, at times, but they are also incredibly powerful and useful devices that give you a significant amount of flexibility.

A good steam mop gives you the flexibility to clean whatever it is that is on the surface you’re cleaning, and a steam mop performs this cleaning process in a quick and swift manner.

What is a Steam Mop Exactly?

A steam mop is a type of mop – kind of like a regular mop, but a little different – that uses the power of heated water, which turns into steam, to loosen up and remove stains, gunk, and grime, from your floors.

With steam, it’s much easier for the gunk and grime that you are trying to clean to get loosened up, because the heat allows the gunk and grime to detach itself from the floor, and then you can simply mop those pieces of gunk and grime off of your floors.

Other mops don’t have this same ability, which makes them quite a bit more inefficient. But, with a good steam mop, it’s easy to loosen up and mop up whatever is on your floors.

In this buying guide, we’re going to be looking at two excellent steam mops. First, we’re going to take a look at the Bissell 1940, and then, we’re going to take a look at the Shark S3601. You’re going to learn all about what these steam mops offer, and which one is the better steam mop for your purposes and needs.

Shark S3601 vs Bissell 1940

What Does The Bissell 1940 Offer?

With a weight of 6.82 pounds and a clear and simplistic design, the Bissell 1940 is very easy to use. It’s a fairly small steam mop, and this means that you can move it into all kinds of different spaces, with tremendous ease.

There isn’t any bulk or heft, either, so this allows for swift and easy movement. If you have a home that consists of many smaller spaces, then this is a really good steam mop to own, due to the fact that it gives you a great deal of freedom, in terms of where you can move the steam mop.

On the top of the steam mop, right on the handle, there are three little buttons. Each one of the buttons allows you to choose the exact amount of steam that you want to use, for that particular steam cleaning session.

If you need a lot of steam, you can choose the highest steam, and if you need a little steam, you can choose the lower steam setting.

More steam is very beneficial if you are removing stains that have been on your floors for a very long period of time.

Less steam is beneficial if you want to conserve some of the steam that is currently being used, and are mopping up stains, or gunk and grime, that isn’t very difficult to remove.

You can use the Bissell 1940 Steam Mop on all kinds of different hard floors. Tile floors. Hardwood floors. Stone floors. Marble floors. Granite floors. And many more. As long as the floor is made of a hard material, you can use this steam mop to clean it.

While you don’t need to use anything else for a proper mopping experience, you can use these things known as “Fragrance Disks”. A Fragrance Disk is a little disk that evaporates into the steam, as you are mopping, leaving behind a very nice fragrance. If you want to spruce up the smell of your home, while mopping, then these are a great way to do that.

Shark S3601 Steam Mop

Bissell 1940 Review

In terms of the efficiency and performance of this steam mop, it’s very similar to that of the Bissell 1940. It works on every hard surface and can clean whatever gunk, grime, or stains that you have with a great deal of ease.

What’s really nice about the Shark S3601 is that there is a mop pad that you will be using, and this mop pad can be flipped over, to provide another cleaning tool for your floors.

Instead of having to wash it after one side is dirty, you can just flip it over! This does make things convenient if you need to mop a lot of space in a shorter period of time.

In the end, the Shark S3601 is a more affordable steam mop that is very similar to the Bissell 1940.

Due to the use of the flip-over mop pad, it’s a bit more convenient. But, it does lack the Fragrance Disks that the Bissell 1940 offers. However, if you want a convenient, easy-to-use, and efficient steam mop, this is one of the best on the market!
